Training Few Dentists Achieve
Dr. Godfrey is a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry. He completed three additional years of specialized training to earn this recognition, an achievement reached by fewer than 1 percent of dentists. He also holds a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, one of the highest honors available to a general dentist.
For patients, these credentials mean more than titles on a wall. They reflect a dentist who keeps learning, reviews the latest scientific evidence, and brings that knowledge into every exam, cleaning, and treatment plan.
Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship and Mastership
Dr. Godfrey earned his AGD Fellowship Award in 2007 and his AGD Mastership Award in 2023. These awards recognize dentists who go far beyond basic education requirements and continue to prove their skills throughout their careers.
To earn a Fellowship, a dentist must meet several demanding requirements.
- Hold AGD membership for three consecutive years
- Complete at least 500 approved continuing education credits
- Pass a comprehensive examination
- Attend an AGD Convocation Ceremony
Mastership is the next level. Fellows who pursue it must complete an additional 600 approved credits across every discipline of dentistry, and 400 of those credits must come from hands-on courses where skills are practiced with dental materials. Mastership candidates also attend an AGD Convocation Ceremony.
In the 70-year history of the AGD, 18,265 members have earned Fellowship, and only 3,767 have achieved Mastership. Dr. Godfrey is part of that small group, and these awards reflect a lasting commitment to lifelong learning.
American Board of General Dentistry Certification
Board certification through the American Board of General Dentistry is a mark of dedication to raising the standards of general dentistry. A dentist who earns it shows a commitment to providing the best possible patient care through ongoing education. Dr. Godfrey’s Diplomate status gives patients added confidence that their treatment follows current, evidence-based practice.
Our Three Core Values
Every visit to Godfrey Dentistry is guided by three principles that shape how we care for patients.
Lifelong Learning for Better Patient Care
Dr. Godfrey completes many hours of continuing education every year so patients can benefit from the newest techniques and equipment. He also takes part in monthly study clubs with dentists who share his goal of improving dental care across the Seacoast community.
He is an active member of several respected study groups and training programs.
- Spear Study Club
- Woody Rupp Study Club for Clinical Excellence
- Zimmer Pathways Program
- Smart Choice Oral Surgery
This steady learning supports everything we offer, from preventive care and family dentistry to implant restorations, restorative treatment, and cosmetic dentistry.
Advanced Hygiene With Guided Biofilm Therapy
Prevention is at the heart of our practice, which is why we offer Guided Biofilm Therapy, a modern approach to professional cleanings. Only a small number of offices in New Hampshire provide it. Guided Biofilm Therapy uses a systematic, comfortable process to remove plaque, stains, and harmful bacteria more thoroughly than traditional cleanings.
Insurance and New Patients Welcome
We welcome new patients and families and accept all insurance plans except Medicaid. Godfrey Dentistry is in network with Delta Dental Premier. Our team is happy to review your benefits and explain your options before treatment begins.
